Overview
Tesamorelin (TH9507) is a synthetic analog of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) comprising the full 44-amino acid sequence of human GHRH with the addition of a trans-3-hexenoic acid moiety at the N-terminus. This modification stabilizes the peptide against plasma endopeptidase degradation, extending its functional half-life compared to native GHRH while preserving its ability to bind and activate pituitary GHRH receptors. Tesamorelin acts at the level of somatotroph cells in the anterior pituitary to stimulate pulsatile growth hormone secretion.
